In March 2017 a large rainfall and flooding event as a consequence of ex-Tropical Cyclone Debbie caused an embankment failure on Pine Creek Road at Numinbah Valley in the Gold Coast Hinterland.

Geleon were engaged to rapidly undertake detailed design and engineering for the rectification of the embankment failure, with the work focusing on restoring the road alignment, stabilising the embankment and reinstating guardrail, pavement marking and signage.

The early completion of this engagement and subsequent construction provided road users with a safe alternative route while Gold Coast - Springbrook Road was closed for restoration work.
